Technical context
AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate, exam code DEA-C01, is awarded by AWS. It validates the ability to design and operate data pipelines on AWS: bringing data in, transforming it, storing it in the right place, keeping workloads healthy and controlling who can reach them. It is aimed at data engineers, developers and architects who build or run data processing on AWS and want that expertise formally recognised.
The real exam has 65 single-answer or multiple-answer questions to complete in 130 minutes. It is offered in English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese, but not in French or Arabic. Four domains shape it: data ingestion and transformation (34 per cent), data store management (26 per cent), data operations and support (22 per cent), and data security and governance (18 per cent). What makes it hard is less the amount of knowledge than the way questions are built. Several services could technically meet the stated need, yet only one strikes the best balance between volume, latency, cost and governance. Memorising product sheets will not get you through; you need to know why an option wins in one context and loses in another.
This practice quiz draws its 40 questions from a bank of 200 items spread according to the exam weighting: 68 on ingestion and transformation, 52 on data stores, 44 on operations and support, 36 on security and governance. The 80 minutes allowed match the pace of the real exam, two minutes per question. This English version prepares you for actual exam conditions, while the French and Arabic versions help consolidate the concepts. Explanations show why the correct option fits the requirement and what rules the others out. Retake the quiz until you regularly score above 75 per cent before booking the exam.
