Technical context

This is the domain that changed most. Business Environment carried 8 per cent of the PMP exam under the previous outline and carries 26 per cent from July 2026. Its share has more than tripled, and it now makes up better than a quarter of the paper. For anyone preparing with material written before that revision, this is risk number one: a quarter of the exam studied as though it were a tenth.

Its eight tasks concern what surrounds the project rather than its execution: establishing governance and escalation thresholds, managing regulatory, security, health and sustainability compliance, controlling the change route, removing impediments, managing risk, capitalising on lessons learned, supporting organisational change, and surveying regulatory, technological, geopolitical and market shifts that could affect the project. The outline brought artificial intelligence and sustainability into this domain explicitly.

This practice quiz covers the eight tasks in equal measure, roughly nineteen questions each, from a bank of 150 items with 35 drawn per session. Scenarios put the candidate in front of governance trade-offs, compliance questions and environmental shifts that call the project trajectory into question. Explanations set out the expected reasoning and what rules the other options out.
