Contexte technique
The Process domain accounts for 41 per cent of the PMP exam, down from 50 per cent in the previous outline. It is the heaviest of the three and the one candidates instinctively study most, because it holds what people traditionally associate with project management: scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, procurement and closure. It carries ten tasks, more than either of the other domains.
The trap here is to reduce the domain to mechanics. The most discriminating task in the new outline is value-based delivery: identifying what constitutes value with stakeholders, prioritising work on the strength of feedback received, and examining business benefit throughout the project rather than at the review. A candidate who knows estimation techniques inside out but reasons in terms of conformance to plan rather than delivered outcome gets caught on these items.
This practice quiz covers the ten tasks in equal measure, fifteen questions each, which avoids the usual concentration on schedule and cost at the expense of procurement, financial governance or closure. The 35 questions drawn each session come from a bank of 150 items, about a third of which place the candidate in an adaptive or hybrid setting.
